career ka-'rir noun: a profession for which one trains and which is undertaken as a permanent calling.

Whether you were called to or just happened to land a career as a technical communicator, here you are, everyday, communicating. Some days it goes well. Other days, not so well. But ultimately we like what we do (or we wouldn't be here, right?).

Our chapter sees career development is a life-long process. Whether you are job searching or have the "perfect" job, strategically planning your short and long-term career goals will ensure you are successful now as well as in the future. During each of our regular meetings we focus on one aspect that directly relates to your career. In past meetings, we've helped members:

• Craft a better resume
• Identify the hardest interview questions to answer
• Network to discover employers who hire technical communicators in So. Nevada

We also share the tips and tricks of the trade. Previously we've resolved MS Word issues, provided DreamWeaver help, and discussed editing techniques.

Our chapter is using a blog on Blogger™ to post references to positions that our members are aware of.
